a) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and qualifies for the UEFA Cup
through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the
association’s UEFA Champions League representatives is automatically
transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this case, the number of places to which
the title-holder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions
League and the UEFA Cup does not change.



a)如果卫冕冠军所在联赛拥有不止一个欧冠名额并且卫冕冠军自己取得了联盟杯资格(就是利物浦05年情况，欧冠冠军但联赛第五)，那么该国联赛的排名最低的欧冠资格球队下赛季将被安排踢联盟杯，这样，该国参加冠军杯和联盟杯的球队数量都没有变化。 

b) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and does not qualify for the UEFA
Champions League or UEFA Cup through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the association’s UEFA Champions League
representatives is automatically transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this
case, the national association of the title-holder is entitled to one
additional place in the UEFA Cup.



b)如果卫冕冠军所在联赛有不止一个欧冠名额并且卫冕冠军自己连联盟杯名额也没有拿到，那么该国联赛的排名最低的欧冠资格球队下赛季将被安排踢联盟杯，这样，该国参加冠军杯的球队数量没有变化，但参加联盟杯的球队数量将增加一个。 

c) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to only one UEFA
Champions League place and qualifies for the UEFA Cup through its
domestic competitions, it is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions
League in addition to the association’s other UEFA Champions League
representative. In this case, the combined number of places to which the
title-holder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup does not change. 




c)如果卫冕冠军所在联赛只拥有一个欧冠名额并且卫冕冠军自己取得了联盟杯资格，那么该国获得欧冠名额球队(联赛冠军)依然参加冠军杯比赛，这样，该国联赛多出一个冠军杯名额，但联盟杯名额会自动减少一个，这样，该国联赛参加冠军杯和联盟杯比赛球队数量总和没有变化。 

d) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to only one UEFA
Champions League place and does not qualify for the UEFA Champions
League or UEFA Cup through its domestic competitions, it is entitled to
play in the UEFA Champions League in addition to the association’s other
UEFA Champions League representative. In this case, the national
association of the title-holder is entitled to one additional place in the
UEFA Champions League. 




d)如果卫冕冠军所在联赛只拥有一个欧冠名额并且卫冕冠军自己连联盟杯名额也没有拿到，那么该国获得欧冠名额球队(联赛冠军)依然参加冠军杯比赛，这样，该国联赛多出一个冠军杯名额，而联盟杯名额数没有变化。 

至于05年的利物浦，则是个特例
那年利物浦未能进入英超最后前四名，因此按照欧足联以前的规则，他们将不能参加下赛季的欧冠联赛，虽然他们在冠军杯总决赛中点球击败了AC米兰获得冠军。但后来他们还是参加了7月开始的欧冠资格赛，这是因为欧足联对利物浦网开一面，但不过也是作为一种例外处理。
欧足联执委会宣布：利物浦将参加第一轮资格赛。资格赛将在那次的7月12/13日和19/20日举行，而抽签仪式定在6月24日。抽签时利物浦不享有同一国家俱乐部相关的保护规则，同时，将被作为英格兰成绩最差的俱乐部进行抽签。

其实利物浦在参加当年的决赛前，这个问题就已经被人们提及。不过直到半场时，他们以0:3落后，欧足联仍无须担心，但下半场风云突变，利物浦绝地翻盘成功，6分钟内连进3球，并在点球决战中战胜了米兰。这个尖锐的问题：欧冠冠军能否卫冕，就提上了欧足联的议事日程，让欧足联大为头痛。

但是英足总之前已明确表示不会仿效西班牙的先例，以牺牲英超第四名埃弗顿参赛的资格来成全利物浦。而2000年时皇家马德里夺得冠军杯，那年他们联赛仅获得第五名，西班牙足协把第四名皇家萨拉戈萨的名额让给了皇家马德里。

应该效仿世界杯冠军不能自动入围下一届世界杯决赛圈那样,欧洲冠军也必须根据联赛排名重新而来,这样才公平~否则假如拿到欧洲冠军却在联赛里降级,那又怎么办呢?代表低一级别的联赛出战冠军杯?哈哈
